Forced labor for army as porter reported to lose leg

Irrawaddy: Mon Porter Loses Leg in Landmine Ambush, 6 October 2011, Lawi Weng

Report states that Myint Thein of Ta Dein village, was forced to work as a porter for the Burma Army Light Infantry Battalion No. 543. He lost his leg in a landmine incident. It is not known where in the column he was walking at the time of the incident. The Army told his village headman to come and retrieve him.
