Mon Porter Loses Leg in Landmine Ambush, Irrawaddy, Lawi Weng, 6 October 2011
Myint Thein, a 47-year-old Mon civilian, lost his leg to a landmine only half an hour after he had been conscripted by the Burmese army to work as a porter. The Burmese army commander had later phoned the village headman and requested that he go and recover the mine blast victim.
