In 2023 Mine Free Myanmar launched a nationwide poster contest on the theme of: The Impact of antipersonnel landmines on my community. Artists could use any medium, however the theme should be presented primarily as a graphic image with a minimum of words. Text could be in any language in Myanmar.
The contest opened in 15 June 2023 and closed on International Peace Day, 21 September 2023. Awards were announced on International Human Rights Day 10 December 2023, with a 1st prize in the adult category of almost 1 million kyat (increased from previous announcement due to fall in value of kyat)
These are some of the submissions which came in from across the country including from Chin, Karen, Mon, Rakhine and Shan States and the Tanintharyi and Yangon Regions. Artwork included submissions in Burmese, Karen and English.
