Landmine Monitor Country Report in Burmese launched at press conference

On 26 February 2026 an online Press Briefing was organized by Mine Free Myanmar.

The major findings of the December 2025 Landmine & Cluster Munition Monitor for Myanmar Burma were:

• The Monitor reported, for a 2nd year in a row that Myanmar produced more casualties due to landmines than any other country in the last calendar year.
• Mine use increased significantly during the past year with reports mine casualties in every State and Region of the country.
• The Monitor reports landmine contamination in more than 211 the townships in the country.
• There is a significant increase in casualties, and the hazards posed, by explosive remnants of war (ERW).
